Privacy Policy — Personal Library App

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Mi Biblioteca ("the app") is a personal book collection management app developed by BrauSoft. This policy explains how data is handled.

1. Data we collect

The app does NOT collect, store, or transmit personal data to any server, whether our own or a third party's. No registration or user account is required.

2. Data stored on your device

All the information you enter (books, authors, reading statuses, tags, ratings, loans, and covers) is stored exclusively in your device's local storage. If you record a loan, this includes the name of the person you lend the book to, exactly as you type it. This data never leaves your phone unless you perform a manual export.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Any personal data you enter into the app (such as a loan recipient's name) is processed solely on your device, based on your own action of entering it to use the app's features. This processing relies on your consent, given by voluntarily entering that data, and on the legitimate interest of providing the core functionality you requested (managing your personal book collection). We do not process this data for any other purpose.

4. Your rights (GDPR)

Because all your data is stored exclusively on your device and we have no server or database of our own, you exercise your rights directly and immediately within the app, without needing to contact us:

Since we never receive or store a copy of your data, there is nothing for us to access, rectify, or delete on our end. If you have any questions about your data or this policy, you can still contact us using the details in section 10.

5. Internet connections

The app connects to the internet to query two public third-party services when you search for a book by ISBN or title, or when you refresh covers:

These requests only send the search term or ISBN needed to fetch the book's data, along with a country code derived from the app's configured language. No personally identifiable data is sent — not your name, your real location, or any device identifier.

6. Exporting and importing data

You can export your collection to a file (JSON or CSV) and import it again later. The file is saved wherever you choose via the operating system's native picker (local storage, Google Drive, email, etc.). The app does not send this file to any server, ours or a third party's: you decide the destination.

7. Permissions

8. Third parties

The app includes no advertising, no analytics, no tracking tools, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.

9. Children

The app is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from any user.

10. Data Deletion

Personal Library App (developed by BrauSoft) stores all your data exclusively on your own device — we have no server or database of our own, so there is no remote account or copy of your data for us to delete on your behalf. You can delete your data yourself, at any time, directly within the app:

Data deleted this way is removed immediately and is not retained anywhere by us, since it was never transmitted to us in the first place. The only data ever sent over the network is a search term or ISBN sent to OpenLibrary/Google Books to look up book information (see section 5) — these are public, stateless lookups that are not linked to you or stored by us afterward.

Any change to this policy will be reflected on this same page.
